The Bible says, “WHEREFORE.” In my Bible, the word is written in capital letters. What does this mean?

I hope each and everyone of you here is already convinced that you are in the perfect will of God in your lives. You should all be convinced that it is God’s will that you finish your Bible School.

The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1, “WHEREFORE seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” We must have a goal. There must be a place we must reach. If you have no goal to get your diploma, no goal to graduate, you are just wasting time, money, and life. Why are you here?  Why are you in the Bible School?

At the very first day you stepped into the Bible School, you should have already what kind of things you have put yourself in. So how were you? How were are in the recent midterm examination? Still alive? Still going? It is difficult to study that is why the more that you must have a goal. Now, we are going to talk about how to achieve those goals to finish Bible School. We must have a goal so that we can finish. Without a goal, you are going to be running in circles all your life.

In the Bible School, some have finished more than four years. They did it in five years, six years. Maybe, it was because those people don’t have a clear goal. When the Bible says “Wherefore” it means that it has said something good in the previous passage. Hebrews 12:1 says where because the previous chapter, Chapter 11, speaks about the roll call of the heroes of faith. The writer tells us about what faith has done to these people.

Number one: to accomplish our goals, we must have faith. As a Bible student, you must have a faith that you can finish well in four years. But what if you fail in an exam, will that faith waver? You know, students, it is not God’s will that you fail on your subjects. The Lord does not will that you will not finish your studies here. Your teachers do not desire that you fail on your subjects. So if you fail, whose fault it is? Our teachers do not give you examinations to make your student life miserable but to test what have you learned so far. Put that in your mind. We must have that faith to finish according to verse 1 of Chapter 12. And from Romans 10:17, where does that faith come from? Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. That means hear. Listen. Listen to your teachers. Do not sleep. Your faith to finish this course must be in your hearts from first year to fourth year. It must not diminish or go away.  Even if the way to graduate is long, do not quit.

Number 2: The Bible says in verse 2, looking unto Jesus. So the first, we must have faith. Second, we must have focus. We need focus. The writer of the book of Hebrews compares us to a runner in a race that has a finish line. What if, for example, you are running in a race, and while you are running in the race, you saw an attractive girl, and you stumbled, and you broke your leg. You cannot run anymore. You did not finish the race. When you entered the Bible School, what is your ultimate motive? To have a girlfriend is a must-not motive here. God’s perfect will for you here is to finish your training. So if you were able to have a girlfriend while you are studying when it is prohibited in our rules, then it is not God’s will for you. Be careful because the devil might even use it against you. I will give you a scenario. For example you are memorizing verses for Personal Evangelism, then your girlfriend texts you. You need to reply. She will reply back. And you will reply again and so on and so forth until you lose your focus in memorizing the verses. So tomorrow in the exams you will cheat. There was one who did that during our time. I tell, he did not graduate. That is why while you are here in the Bible School, you study. Except for those here who were married already. I am not saying you divorce your wives so you can study.  What I am saying is focus on your studies to finish it. Without focus you cannot finish. So what are the things we need to have to finish our course? First is faith. Second is focus.
